The Club

The purpose-built club was created in 2000 after the original club burnt down in February 1997, have a look in the phots section and see pictures of the old club.

 We are located in the village of Lakenheath we have 189 members from the age of 11 to 90 years of age.

New members are always welcome to join the thriving and competitive club which provides an opportunity to play at all levels, from domestic to county and national.

Lakenheath indoor bowls club is run a committee of 10 members. It is affiliated to the English Indoor Bowling Association, Suffolk County Indoor Bowling Association,

The indoor season runs from September to April we also run a friendly summer league during the summer period normal on a Tuesday and a Wednesday evening

Facilities at Lakenheath,  large car park, changing rooms / lockers, bowls loan for beginners, licensed bar and cold drinks & snacks

The club maintains a stock of club shirts.

The club has a dress code that all members are expected to observe.

Before you join, you may wear what you want on the green (but you must wear flat soled shoes or slippers) but once you have joined, or play as a visitor you will be expected to dress to our dress code.

For all roll-ups, leagues and competitions you must wear the clubs official top, or a white shirt/bowls top or blouse, grey trousers or skirt regulation bowls shoes (either grey, brown or white)

For those who have never played and new  bowlers can visit the club on a Sunday morning please contact the club and a member of the committee will guide you through the basic allowing you to experience the game for the first time. You need no equipment or special clothing and we will provide the bowls
